The highly anticipated documentary American Sons, Produced by Laura Varela and Directed/Produced by Andrew James Gonzales, will make its world premiere at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival. As an official SXSW selection, this powerful film offers a gripping, deeply personal exploration of war’s lasting impact on U.S. veterans and their loved ones. American Sons was shaped through a dynamic collaboration, with Anne Lewis (Editor of As Long As I Remember: American Veteranos), serving as Consulting Editor and Story Consultant, bringing her invaluable expertise to the project; as well as longtime collaborator Fernando S. Cano II (Producer of As Long As I Remember: American Veteranos), who played a vital role in supporting this project through its completion.
