San Diego Latino Film Festival presents:
UN TRIP: RAULRSALINAS AND THE POETRY OF LIBERATION
– a film by Anne Lewis and Laura Varela –
Un Trip is a split-screen jazz and liberation documentary based on “Un Trip through the Mind Jail,” written in 1969 by beloved Xicanindio poet raúlrsalinas while he was incarcerated at Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary.
Un Trip is the recipient of multiple Film Festival awards, including:
Best Social Commentary – Arthouse Film Festival
Best Documentary – San Angelo Revolution Film Festival
Best Documentary Short – The Lost River Film Festival
Hecho en Tejas Audience Award – Cine Las Americas International Film Festival
The filmmakers are bringing Un Trip to the San Diego Latino Film Festival for its California debut on what would have been Raul’s 90th birthday.
Un Trip is screening as part of the Chicano Arte Shorts Program
